Description Buckling Spring Keyboard Spacesaver Mac

For Mac users in particular, super-flat, well-designed keyboards were the future - they couldn't be flat and compact enough. Admit it, one day you too got rid of your old mechanical keyboard in a dignified beige-grey and bought a fancy new Mac. And now you regret it and long for the reassuring click and the clear resonance of the keyboard. Back then, you could still feel whether you'd pressed a key ;) Even if you were sensible and didn't dispose of the keyboard, you won't get very far without a USB connection. Fortunately, there is now a new edition of the good old IBM Model M.
Unicomp bought up the patents and production machines for the IBM keyboards in 1996 and now produces this modern version with a USB connection. So you can connect the keyboard to your computer without any problems - even to a notebook. :) However, a connection via PS2 adapter is not possible.
IBM Model M
Of course, it is not the typical office color of the 80s and 90s that makes up the Model M and ensured that this keyboard was sold millions of times, but the Buckling Springsthe mechanical keys. As the name suggests, each key contains a spring that is not only compressed but also bent when pressed, thus optimally transmitting the impulse. This is how the clearly perceptible pressure point and the wonderful, slightly metallic "click". The spring triggers a hammer that presses two membranes together and thus establishes contact. Mechanical keyboards have the advantage that you can type quickly and precisely due to the haptics on the one hand and the transmission on the other. It also simply feels better and your fingers tire less quickly.
In contrast to Cherry MX switches, the switching point on Buckling Springs cannot be felt when the key is released. So you don't feel a "hook" when you lift your finger again.
Due to the built-in steel plate, the keyboard is relatively heavy, which means that it remains stable in place, even with energetic typists. Of course, it also has the two obligatory tilt feet for tilting. :) Another special feature is the removable keycaps. With a little grip, you can simply detach them and clean the keyboard. It is also possible to set your own layout or even use other caps. Another new feature in addition to the USB port is the Mac Command key, which makes controlling iTunes, Safari and other Mac OS X programs more convenient. Traditional details include the status lights above the number pad.
The IBM Model M is still one of the best-selling keyboards for a reason. With this mechanical keyboard, you get a durable typing device with a history that is worthwhile for anyone who works a lot on a PC - and who doesn't? ;)
As a frequent typist, your fingers will thank you. And even if you only type the occasional old-fashioned email, you'll love the click.
About the layout: German Qwertz layout with 105 keys, corresponds to the normal German layout
